Plein Air Pastel Paintings.

In Juneau, Alaska the year has an ebb and a flow. Winter is full of friends, hiking mountains, snowboarding, and lots of down time. Baking, reading, puzzles and tea. Summer can be just the opposite. If it is sunny Juneauites will forgo all laundry and dishes to spend from dawn till dusk (literally) outside.

These plein air pastel paintings were done in the midst of these intense summer days. Created onsite surrounded by children playing and plans for our dinner around a beach fire.
